I am not an enthusiastic watch lover or a watch expert. But I do want to know more about the watch I am interested in, especially when that’s a brand name watch, even it is only a replica.
Since I am just an ordinary man in this world with almost no watch knowledge, I am not quite interested in what movement or what case is used in the watch. Besides, I would rather buy a replica watch other than those original hefty watches, so the specs of the original watches mean nothing to me. Instead, I am quite interested in knowing the histroy or any other interesting stories behind the watch.
Actually most of us would have the experience of buying a watch by ourselves some day. We may want to buy a watch for ourselves, friends, husbands/wives, or children. When we decide to buy a watch that is of a brand name, we usually want to know more background information of the watch. Because the stories behind the watches mean to us.
But I was quite frustrated when I searched for this information on the internet.
First, if you browse the official website of those well-known watchmakers, you’ll find they only care about their own history. But for the specific watch models, they usually offers limited information such as the specs and some photos of the watch.
Actually they are the most authoritative speaker to tell about how they came out with such a model, and what are the history and other interesting stories behind the watch. But they just do not tell you this.
So I google the information on the internet. But the process was quite time-consuming and frustrating because there is lots of repeated information and most of the sites just offer even less information than the official websites.
And to my surprise, I found lots of watch blogs that just are not written for a normal human being to read!
Some of the watch blogs just have no paragaphing, totally irrelative contents, and no photos. Later I came to know that these unreadable blogs are just written for search engines. How pity the search engine…
Then there is some watch blogs that do includes some fancy photos in the posts. But if you peruse the articles, you may find nothing impress in your mind except for some abstract specs and terms.
I feel rather bored reading such blogs. So I try to make this watch blog a little different, with more relaxing and useful posts for watch beginners like me.
I will try to update this blog every weekday and take a rest on whenever Chinese holidays.
